On November 13 and 14, the CTTC was pleased to take part in the “Navigating a Greener Sky” symposium organized by ASM International at the Institut de Recherche sur les Céramiques and SAFIR platform Limoges.

The "Navigating a Greener Sky" symposium

This event, focusing on advances in thermal spray and vapor deposition (PVD) coating technologies for the aerospace industry, highlighted innovations that meet the challenges of sustainability and greenhouse effect reduction.

Over the course of two days, numerous experts and researchers discussed technological innovations in favor of sustainable solutions in industry.

Our PhD student collaborator, Ximena Ospina Arrubla, presented a poster entitled “Elaboration of transparent alumina coatings using the ADM aerosol deposition method”.

This work highlights an innovative technique for producing ceramic coatings tailored to industrial needs.

Exchange with Dr. Kentaro Shinoda

We also had the honour to welcome at CTTC Dr. Kentaro Shinoda from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) – Japan, following his excellent lecture entitled “Hybrid Aerosol Deposition Process: Bridging the Gap between Thermal Spray and Vapor Deposition Processes”. A fruitful moment to present our ADM devices and the results of our research in collaboration with IRCER Lab.
